Creative Ways to Drink More Water (Without Hating It!)

Let’s be real: staying hydrated sounds easy… until the day flies by and I realize I've had only juice, a few sips of tea, and maybe a soda. Sound familiar?

You’re not alone. I, too, struggle to drink enough water daily, but the benefits are too good to ignore: improved focus, better skin, boosted energy, and even fewer cravings. The trick? Making it fun, easy, and part of your lifestyle.

Here’s how to turn “Ugh, I forgot to drink water again” into “I’ve got this!”

1. Make Water Unboring

Water doesn’t have to be plain and bland. Infuse it with:

  • Citrus slices (lemon, lime, orange)

  • Cucumber and mint

  • Frozen berries (adds flavor and chills your water)

Interactive Tip: Create a weekly “Hydration Bar” at home. Pre-fill bottles or jars with different infusions and stash them in the fridge. Let your family pick their flavor of the day.

2. Gamify It

  • Use a water tracking app (Plant Nanny, My Water, or Habit) that reminds you with cute visuals.

  • Challenge a friend or coworker: “First one to hit 64 oz buys coffee next week.”

  • Mark your bottle with time-goals. It’s oddly motivating to see “3 PM: Keep sippin’!”

Try This: Download a printable water tracker and stick it on your fridge, laptop, or planner. Every checkmark is a small win.

3. Pair It with Routine

Habits stick when paired with existing ones:

  • Drink a glass right before OR after brushing your teeth.

  • Sip while waiting for your tea or coffee to brew.

  • Try drinking water before meals—it aids digestion and curbs overeating.

Quick Challenge: For one day, drink a glass of water every time you check your phone. (Yes, even if it’s just to scroll.)

4. Find Your Bottle

It might sound silly, but the right water bottle can make all the difference. Look for:

  • A size that fits your bag or car

  • A straw or chug lid, depending on how you like to drink

  • A color or design you love—treat it like an accessory!

Bonus Tip: Keep bottles in your most-used spaces: desk, car, diaper bag, or gym tote.

Moms, Working Women & Female Entrepreneurs, this one’s for you:

We’re juggling a thousand things—clients, meetings, carpool, and meal preps—and our own hydration is easy to overlook. But here’s the truth: when you’re hydrated, you think clearer, have more energy, and feel more like you.

  • Moms: Keep a bottle in the diaper bag and refill every time you feed your child.

  • Working women: Add “Drink water” to your calendar as a recurring task—it counts!

  • Entrepreneurs: Batch it in with your to-do list and power breaks. Hydration fuels innovation.

You don’t just need water—you deserve it1!

5. Reward Yourself

Hydration goals deserve celebration!

  • Hit your water target for 7 days? Treat yourself to a cute new tumbler or a skin-boosting sheet mask.

  • Make it part of your wellness ritual: light a candle, sip infused water, and journal your wins.

Take the 7-Day Water Challenge

Here’s our mini mission:

Goal: Drink 51 oz every day for a week. (6 cups or 3 average-size bottles of water)

Track: Use an app, journal, or this blog’s printable tracker (available in my ME Goals! Self-Care Circle group).

Reflect: At the end, write down how you feel. (Spoiler: probably more energized, less bloated, and more clear-headed.)

Final Sip

Staying hydrated doesn’t have to be another chore. With a little creativity and intention, it becomes a gift we can give ourselves daily.

So, let's go fill our bottles, raise them up, and toast to our most refreshed, radiant selves!
